Black Butterfly Bakery was started out of my desire to offer something to others that has an immediate positive effect and allows me to do so with something I love — sweets! The name behind my business grew from things I cherish, including some of my favorite colors and a longtime love of butterflies. More than that, they symbolize so many different things to various cultures and individuals.

One meaning that especially resonates with me is the appreciation of fleeting moments. Many of life’s most beautiful experiences are ephemeral, much like the brief life of a butterfly — the present moment passes, a memory is formed, and we can never return to that exact instant. Yet I believe there are exceptions. For me, one exception is biting into a truly delicious dessert: that moment can feel as vivid and joyful as the last time, something you can savor again and again.

It’s my hope that every time you enjoy one of my sweet treats, it brings a bright moment of joy and satisfaction and even though it must end at the last bite, it will be ready to be relived the very next time you come back.
